Movim 0.2 released

We are pleased to announce that Movim 0.2 has been officially released at this time.

This new release features mostly under-the-hood changes, with some major bug fixes and increased compatibility. As for Movim 0.1, this release is not aimed at inexperienced users, but mostly at developers and administrators.

The list of changes for this version is as follows:

• A javascript message bus for widgets
• Graphical installer that also tests compatibility
• Moved away from PHP's session variables to a home-brewed session system
• Movim is now compatible with all major XMPP servers
• Added cache system
• Many bug fixes and improvements

Although it doesn't seem so much, we encountered many issues that forced us to severely postpone Movim 0.2's release date. However, we do not plan on resting and have already planned new features for Movim 0.3:

• Widgets debugger
• Notifications
• Better chatting widget
• Configurable blocks-based layout
• URL rewriting
• Better logging
• Improved storage, caching and session handling
